Gamma Mind Enhancement Experiment - Days 12-18

July 9th, 2007

The effects and results I observed during days 12 through 18 of the Gamma Mind Enhancement Experiment were very similar to what I noticed during days 1 through 11, but I've begun to notice a pattern worth mentioning. I held off until now in posting a report about it because I wanted to test a theory first.

When I use the Gamma technology on its own and just sit idly throughout the 30-minute session, I notice the same tingling in my head I mentioned in previous reports and I occasionally notice other mild physical effects, but this early in the process there aren't many other noticeable effects that repeat every night. I experience the usual mental chatter punctuated by brief moments of deeper awareness, which is common when beginning any new practice involving the expansion of consciousness.

Now, here is the interesting part: When I practice other techniques while listening to the gamma technology, it seems to greatly amplify the effects of those other techniques.

Here is one example: I meditate almost every day, and I use a variety of meditation techniques. Some techniques are simple, like …Continue reading

Gamma Mind Experiment - Participant #2

July 4th, 2007

Here are some reports from one of the other participants in the Gamma Mind Enhancement Technology Experiment. These are her reports from Days 2 through 5. You can read her report from Day 1 here.

Day 2

I had a lot of distracting mind chatter yesterday during the session; couldn't seem to settle down enough to notice any physical sensations or anything at all like that during the session.

I did have that softness feeling afterward for a short time like the day before though.

No noticeable change in anything last night or today.

Day 3

I felt the same "awareness" of the front area of my head/brain as I felt the other day, about half way through the track. I felt like I was able to get slightly more calm than …Continue reading

Gamma Mind Experiment - Days 8-11

June 27th, 2007

During days 8 through 11 of the Gamma Mind Enhancement Experiment, the effects seemed to level off and are closer to the mild effects I would expect from the first few weeks of using a new form of mind enhancement technology, which raises a point worth considering.

We tend to want immediate results in everything we do, whether it's weight loss, learning a new skill, starting a business, or even using a mind enhancement program. We expect it to be like flipping a switch — one moment things are one way and the next moment everything has changed and we've lost twenty pounds or we've mastered that new skill. Granted, it would be fantastic if things worked that way, but realistically they don't. Even with mind enhancement programs, which can speed up the process considerably, it still takes time to achieve significant results. Sometimes it can take many months, which sounds like a long time but really isn't all that long when you compare it to the lifetime it can take to reach these same results without the technology.

During the first week of testing the Gamma technology I noticed some strong effects, which were mostly unexpected because it's not typical for this type of technology to trigger instant results. There are some mild physical sensations that typically occur right away, and, depending on the type of brain activity involved in the test, a person might also experience …Continue reading

New Participants in the Gamma Experiment

June 26th, 2007

Those of you who have been following the progress of the Gamma Mind Enhancement Technology experiment will be pleased to learn some new participants have joined the experiment.

One participant plans to post an experiment log on his web site. The other participant is sending her feedback to me in daily reports, which I'll post here along with my own reports. Here is her report from Day 1 of using the Gamma technology. The report was submitted to me the following afternoon. …Continue reading

Gamma Mind Enhancement Experiment - Days 5, 6 & 7

June 22nd, 2007

The past three days have provided some very interesting results in the Gamma mind enhancement technology experiment. I decided to combine all three reports into one post for simplicity's sake.

During the 30-minute session on Day 5, I didn't experience the tingling in my head that I'd felt during the earlier sessions, nor did I experience the body pulsing phenomenon. I tried to repeat the meditation technique I'd used on Day 4 to see if I would get the same results, and the results were indeed very similar.

I was able to focus my awareness on the meditation without being distracted by other thoughts or by physical sensations. Going into the session that night, I'd almost expected to be distracted by the pain I had been feeling in my lower back throughout most of the day, but I had no trouble releasing the awareness of my physical body and instead fully tuning in to the mental aspect of the meditation technique. The entire process felt much easier than usual. There was no difficulty holding the desired thought in mind, and no struggle with other thoughts constantly popping into my mind.

On Days 6 and 7, I practiced a few energy manipulation techniques during each night's session. I'm …Continue reading

Gamma Mind Enhancement Experiment - Day 4

June 19th, 2007

My experience using the gamma technology yesterday was somewhat different. During the 30-minute session last night, I didn't experience the tingling in my head that I'd felt during each of the three previous sessions, and I didn't experience the body pulsing phenomenon either. Instead, my awareness of my physical body gradually diminished until it was only a very faint impression.

At first, I was fidgety and was having trouble sitting still, my thoughts were very scattered and my mind was racing non-stop. I decided to practice a meditation technique that involves visualizing a lake as a focusing tool and a metaphor for your mind. You begin by picturing a stormy lake with dark, turbulent water, and you focus your mind on calming the lake. You hold this thought in your mind until the water is still and clear and the surface of the lake is quiet and smooth as glass, and then you focus on keeping it that way.

As I practiced the meditation, my thoughts quickly calmed and my awareness of my physical body lessened, until eventually all physical sensations faded and my whole awareness was …Continue reading
